Important Update: Laptop Program Waitlist
Effective August 15, 2024
Due to the overwhelming popularity of our laptop program, we're implementing a waitlist system to ensure fair distribution.
What This Means for You:
Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we strive to provide resources to all our students.
Need immediate computer access? Visit any SFSC Campus or Center – our on-site computers are ready for your use! Just log in using your Panther Central information.
Stay tuned for updates.
Starting Monday, July 22nd, students may begin applying for or renewing loaner laptops from the SFSC Library for the Fall 2024 Term. When they apply or renew, students must be registered for at least one college credit course in the Fall 2024 term.
Laptops will be available for first-time use depending on how many laptops have been returned and are available.
If there are any questions or concerns, contact Lena Phelps at 863-784-7303 or via email at phelpsl@southflorida.edu or Michael Pate at 863-784-7305 or via email at patem@southflorida.edu.
.
1. Browse to https://bit.ly/sfsclaptops and complete the form.
2. When we receive your application, we verify that you are currently enrolled in at least one college credit course.
3. We then send you an email confirming you are eligible for a laptop and will need to set up an appointment. Please keep checking your personal and student email addresses as we try to send them to both.
Note: We are currently maintaining a Waiting List. You will get an email about the Waiting List. When a laptop is available, you will receive an additional email.
Due to demand, we are no longer taking walk-ins. You must wait to get your "Laptop Approved" email before you make your appointment, or you will be asked to schedule an appointment for a later date. Any Laptop Application made after 1:00 p.m. will not get an approval email until at least the next business day.
When you receive your email, it will contain instructions on how to make an appointment - you can do this by filling out the request form. A laptop will be prepared and ready when you arrive for your appointment.
Please remember to bring two forms of photo identification with you. You will not be able to check out the laptop without them. If you do not have a Student ID yet, you can make one here on the Highlands Campus at the Welcome Center in Building B.
When you receive your email, it will contain instructions on how to make an appointment - you can do this by email or telephone. A laptop will be prepared for you on the Highlands Campus and sent to the campus where you wish to pick it up.
The laptop is sent by Campus Courier so there may be several days of delay before it will be available.
Please remember to bring two forms of photo identification with you. You will not be able to check out the laptop without them.
