Library Services

  • Access: Anyone can use books, magazines, or the public WiFi in the SFSC Library. 
  • Books and Computers: You will need a valid student ID, photo ID, and/or a Heartland Library Cooperative card to check out materials or use a computer. For details, please see Getting a Library Card.
  • Public computers are available; however,  SFSC students and staff take priority during busy periods.  For more information on our computer use policy, please see the SFSC Library Computer Use Policy. Anyone may use our free WiFi but must abide by our acceptable usage guidelines.
  • Scanning is free.
  • Printing is available from both library computers and personal devices. Please see SFSC Printing: WEPA for cost and directions.
  • Research: We are happy to help in person, by phone (863) 784-7304, or through Ask-A-Librarian. Also, check out our Research Guides for research topics and subjects.
  • Database Access: Students can log into all library resources from home via Panther Central. For help logging in, see our video, or contact the Circulation Desk at (863)784-7306.
  • Database Access: Public patrons can access our subscription databases in the library. Please see the Service Desk for help. 
  • Return materials using the book drop located near the library entrance or at the Service Desk. You may return books from other academic Florida libraries to any SFSC library.
  • Request books from other state colleges, universities, and public libraries through interlibrary loan. Use the GET IT link in the book record or see the Service Desk for assistance.
  • Disability services: The library is accessible to students and patrons with disabilities. We offer a large print computer station.  Students with specific disabilities may request accommodations and services such as large print. More information is available by contacting the disabilities specialist in the Advising and Counseling Center located in the Cornelius Student Services Building (Building B) in person, by e-mail at disabilities.specialist@southflorida.edu, or by phone at 863-784-7131.
  • Group Study Rooms (Y-207 & Y-208) are available for reservation online by current SFSC students, faculty, and staff. Please limit your booking to no more than 2 hours per day per student.
